History of Lincoln College AFC
Lincoln have always struggled due to their small size as a college, but despite this have produced some teams that have punched above their weight. They have won the second tier of league competition on several ocassions in 1972, 1979, 1989 and 2006 and finished a highly creditable 4th in last season's Premier division. Two teams stand out in Lincoln's history, the team that won back-to-back first division titles in 1974/75 and 1975/76 and the Cuppers winning side of 1990. In 1976 Lincoln reached the Cuppers final and played against St Edmund Hall, however the result is unknown - if Lincoln won Cuppers that season they would join the select group of 7 teams that have won the "double" - a remarkable achievement for a college of Lincoln's size.
